Surrounded by the Mediterranean scrub, in the Parteolla region—encompassing the eastern part of the vast Cagliari area, on the edges of Campidano di Cagliari, Sarrabus, and Gerre—the Semidana cultivar is born.
This native Sardinian olive variety has an ovoid shape, and when ripe, it turns amaranth in color with striking white spots.
The resulting extra virgin olive oil has a light bitterness, with notes of golden apple and almond, complemented by a bold, pleasantly persistent spicy aftertaste.
Stefania Cannavera is one of the faces behind Azienda Agricola Cannavera, a family-run farm with a fully integrated production chain. From carefully tending the olive trees to harvesting and milling the olives, the company is dedicated to producing zero-mile extra virgin olive oil.
Passionate about the world of olive oil, Stefania focuses on the sensory experience of this precious product. Each oil variety tells the story of the land where it is produced, embodying the character and soul of each individual region. The Semidana cultivated at their farm offers a unique experience—distinct even from olives grown just 30 kilometers away—because each terroir imparts its own nuances and characteristics to the final product.
The single-variety La Semidana oil is perfect on its own—drizzled over a slice of bread or as a finishing touch for raw or grilled fish.
La Semidana oil pairs especially well with bitter herb salads and soups.
